STMNET #006 [VA - automaton]
“for ‘consumer vs. user remixed’ accomplished composer, performer and sound designer andrew duke provided samples from his recent release on californias phthalo for anyone to use in the production of an original song. with the support of respected software companies such as ableton, m-audio, native instruments & audiomulch, the results of the creative interpretation and re-interpretation of the source material by the artists invloved was outstanding. the canadian based netlabel stratagem could not have had a more diverse and innovative collection of music for its sixth release. with artists such as tomas jirku (riversof, force inc., traum, tuning spork, mille plateau, klang), hrdvsion (wagon repair, itiswhatitis, traum, subpop), and naw (clevermusic, noise factory), the release spans a wide variety of electronic music genres from the abstract and minimal to the melodic and experimental.”

sk says:
mind-numbing tracks that don’t sound impressive at first, but then you find yourself wanting to play the whole thing again. track 9 is dangerously trippy.
good job stratagem!
