“roto visage returns with another incredible full-length of dark, experimental ambience, titled la muse cachée. For this, our 99th release, roto visage takes you into the darkest recesses of your mind, and won’t let go. Really fantastic stuff, frightening at times, serene at others. This is a must-listen.”

“[ENGLISH] Trailing Space is a post/space/krautrock project led by Jean Nine and “Bring The Darkness Over This Place” is the projects first album. Bring The Darkness Over This Place is a 47 minutes long slowly growing, pompous post-rock work divided into two parts, where beautiful melodies clash to star cluster sized arrangements and quiet ambiences follow thundering loud and noisy parts.
(eldino)”

Hello friends,
You may have noticed the Bleepchat link at the top. It’s a recent addition to Bleepwatch. The nice thing about it is that you can pop on in, leave a message, and it will stay in there, even after you’ve left, for others to see. So it has dual function as both a chatroom, and a shoutbox of sorts. If you’d like to have a talk with me, just leave a message in there, along with the date and time (I’m in NY, so preferably Eastern Time).
You may have also noticed a lack of release reportings. I’m sorry about this, it’s been hectic with the holiday season, along with a gruesome amount of side projects going on. But I’d like to remind you all: You can submit netlabel releases to Bleepwatch. It’s very simple, and I’ve even included a flash tutorial on how to do it (available upon clicking the Submit link above). I sometimes receive submissions that I can not accept, such as releases that you must pay for. I also receive very crude submissions that I usually have to entirely redo (no links to the mp3 files, the cover art is incredibly small or way too large, or the description for the release is just three words long).
I’m going to lay down [re-inforce] a few guidelines when using the Submission form:
- Include atleast one complete descriptive sentence about the release.
- Make sure the cover art is a maximum of 350px horizontally [resize very quickly using the defaults at this website: http://www.shrinkpictures.com]. If the cover is smaller than 350px horizontally, that is odd, and is hopefully not too much smaller.
- If links to the mp3 files are available, PLEASE INCLUDE THEM. This is very important. If no mp3 files are available, it is understandable, just include the link to the compressed archive.
Bleepwatch is a service to provide publicity to netlabels and its musicians, while giving the listeners great new music to listen to for free, without any kind of bothersome advertisements or popups on the site. I don’t make a dime from this. Infact, I pay to host this all. If it sounds like I’m annoyed, it’s because I am. Just please put a tiny bit of effort into your netlabel release submissions. Doing it half-assed is RIDICULOUS. It’s free fucking publicity without ads. The stats are rising every month. THANKS.
Happy Holidays,
Patrick

“Back in the days when I was 17 I started recording drums in the basement. The equipment was rubbish (a slow PC, a six channel mixer, a couple of mics, my old drumset and the good old logic audio version 3.0) It was always good fun… Two years ago I passed A levels and just thought: Good bye country! Hello Nightclub!!! After 3 months in London (still digging that old Ninja Style) I moved to Munich. A Couple of weird clubbing nights later and I was definetly into minimal! So I had to do it too (always trying so hard to be hip ;-) )…
Using bloody presets and software synths is boring (anyways I use them sometimes) so I make most of my tunes by recording everyday life things like tins, empty bottles and electric toothbrushes (No panic! You won’t really hear that: It’s just my producing ethos…), a drum loop here (I’m using a Roland TD6 KV), some FX there et voila out comes the edgy, cranky style of diskofreud (Dancefloor Therapies for the masses)! So probably one day you’ll be dancing to the deep flashy sounds of Vacuum cleaner
Bass…”

“1977 born jim prefers to spin minimal, tekhouse, electro, techno, breakz records in clubs or produce electronic music with the almighty buzz at home, both remixing and creating stuff from scratch. Though primarily a club dj, he is now a lot into producing for its complementary effect to mixing music, and of course for the massive creative joy.
Besides producing solo, he works in a coop with german multitalented producer monoton, called Buzzbrothers, that will soon rock the casbah. stay tuned.”

“My name is Matthias Hampel. I’m 24 years old, from Luebeck, Germany, and I do some electronic music stuff. I have been learning piano for 12 years and I produce electronic music since I was 13 years old starting with an old Atari computer. Over the years, while starting deejaying in 1999, I changed my style several times - so let’s see how long my minimal/techno trip will last :)”

“Later an excellent first album went out one month ago on the so excellent net label Givichy, mysterious Xena continues its social reintegration at Fresh Poulp. A new ep freshly conceived taking us between IDM, Glitch, Drum, Electro-hop and why not hip. Xena is not new on Fresh Poulp because at the time of her detention, and hidden under another nickname, she had offered a piece to Fresh Poulp on the first compilation Octopus One.”

“Latex are back with a new blend of broken beats, hip hop flavor and catchy samples. Four pieces of what you would call electronica. And as ever, Mirsch and Zacke like to trick you with some cheesy tunes - just to turn up with some beat madness a second later. Label-mate Benne a.k.a. Stalker joins in for a dubby technoid remix of ‘Jasshole’ that has some surprises up it’s sleeve as well.”
