“After the great album of Merde comes on Flos Acquae (a sub-series of Benekkea net/rec label): Athletic Lime Orchestra.
A.L.O. is an acrobatics electronic one man band in the balance between jazz, klezmer and ethnic suggestions. The combination is free and re-invented track after track. Contrapposition plans and interlace harmonic are built and re-built following the acoustic inspiration simply. The result is a sonorous atmosphere series designs but although that clearly to you, not definable. The only thread conductor is the thin irony of the author who plays with its ingredients without but never feeling sorry itself some.”
“I’m very proud to announce another Benekkea discovers: Land of Ice. A French band… which could remember first works of Penitent, Profane Grace or something of Mortiis. Soft sad melodies of piano on keys stratification create a melancholic journey on a fantasy story around the glaciers of the Alps. A great electro-ice-ambient yes sometimes a little immature but on my opinion another sure success of Benekkea.
Land Of Ice was born at the very beginning of 2006. Its music can best be qualified as fantasy electro ambient, as I am very influenced by all the heroic fantasy stories (mainly Tolkien). The name of the band has been chosen as I am from the Alps, and I love the mountains. That’s why the songs of Land Of Ice are taking place in high snowy mountains, this is music meant to make the listener travel…
The first demo of Land Of Ice was officialy released in January 2006, but some songs were composed in 2005. It is actually an example of what Land Of Ice sounded at its beginning (The Shining Kingdom and He Who Touched The Sky are the very first songs of Land Of Ice). Before being released on Benekkea, Prelude was available for free at Land Of Ice website, and also as 15-limited printed handnumbered CD-Rs on demand.”
“Black metal has become more sad and cold, with no baroques or music complications. A new project from the ex- Mater Tenebra singer: Dodskammer - Serenity.
Human existence’s instability, everyday’s life’s repetiveness which lead to madness, addiction to a system made of useless human values. After years of slavery, mind wakes up and flies, and its gateway is in Dodskammer, in simplicity, in misanthropy and most of all in consciousness of the existence of a way of flight. Music of ‘Room of death’ pays always attention to melody and simplicity, for example voice which sets growls against pure and simply spoken words, never looking for unnatural or complex solutions.
Everything was born as a chapter of a diary, was born to live only one day, but to be reminded forever. Dodskammer was born to bestow great honours upon bands playing real Music, without posing as masters or heroes. Band consists of one member, TrOn, who recorded and mixed in Some Studios his first promo called ‘Innocence’, licensed by Sinque Prod. Then in 2004 TrOn released his second work called ‘Serenity’. 5 songs of doom black metal plus a Darktrhone cover. His black metal has become more sad and cold, with no baroques or music complications.
Slow black metal in Filosofem’s Burzum style.”
“Second coming for Berlin based badboy Hek187. Since his last release for Plainaudio, the man has been busy producing the full album of Hard:edged frontline MC Santana aka Semtex for Kehlkopf Records. Now we are very happy to serve you a 4 track EP of finest ghettobreaks right from the street.
‘Blue Haze’– bring it on! Eerie Strings accompanied by lazy rollin beats. Barking bass stabs, deadly deep subs with ravey attitude when it comes to the second drop, seen! B-side ‘Twizter’ is one heavy halftime-breakbeat-monster of a track with mean and scary laughter stabs– evil clown soundtrack representin’!
In comparison to both predecessors, ‘Rockwool (VIP)’ is letting you take a break. Meditatively rolling, the track formulates the deep and pensive counterpart to the b-boy rock attitude of the other tunes of this EP. Title track ‘Big Dawg’ is tightening up again. Subs with impact, moving stabs and some rave fx are pushing the vibe forward. If Digital would have released on No U-Turn– the sounds of ‘Big Dawg’ show you how it might have sounded. Peace!”
“Betamod brings even more VGM with Hiroshi and his debt EP, Bitronica. Hailing from the UK, Hiroshi creates his tracks by combining 8 bit synthesis, lofi drums and video game sound effects. VGM Fans, Be sure not to miss tracks like Level 2, Toadstool’s Potion, and the excellent Hiroshi’s Palace. There are some hardcore ‘bits’ (pun intended) in there as well, just click on Chipcore. Be sure not to miss this debut from the ever promising new artist, Hiroshi. “
“A netlabel DJ mix fron echtZEIT. freak.waves includes a variety of minimalistic, experimental and housey ‘waves’, so some tracks come as a tiny wave to relax your ears and some are freaking around to turn you on.” [editor: lol! I like this description.]
