“Feed your neurosis. Have a walk in the dark. Scare the summer-sun away. Rock your subconscious. Your boyfriend will hide under the covers, while you prepare for the somnabulist party in the basement. This is Yoursck on WeirdAndWired! Prepare for some drony action in all colours and shapes noise can have!”

“Sergey Yakimov from Ekaterinburg, also known as SM and Deadline (as he regularly appears on various ES releases), recorded his most mature album at the moment. Starting with psychedelic techno with crystal-clear synthetic melodies it continues with deep and warmer themes full of syncopated beats and rich ambient dub forms.
And, at the end of the road, we get 6 meritorious remixes, performed in a broad style range: idm, downbeat and the astonishing post-rock apotheosis.”

“João Ricardo produces music under the name OCP (Operador de Cabine Polivalente). After several releases at the MiMi netlabel, recently his album length work Sound Check has been published at the well-known TestTube netlabel, and now he is here at Complementary Distribution with a release in two parts entitled Interludes.
Many people praise and enjoy OCP’s unreleased open source audio works at archive.org: Interludes originally was one of those open source materials. In terms of genres OCP creates minimal and glitchy dubambient in a healthy, unconventional and creative way. This first part has an equal and powerful atmosphere. The listener can meet up wet grooves, long and flowing harmonic synthpads accompanied by so called glitchy sounds which are exciting but never disturbing. The release ends with one gentle remix done by Hungarian minimal 4p4 artist Ferenc Vaspoeri (ChiWare, Cod – HU, Standard Music – FR).”

“This album is a compilation of ambient tracks off of litmus0001’s first 3 albums– resplendent namesake observed (2001), yakima listening station (2002), and k-basin (2003). This includes tracks previously only heard on somafm.com’s Drone Zone. Nearly 2 hours of icy ambient drones with warm shoegazer harmonic opiate fuzziness.”

“Different artists were asked to submit material of a dark/disturbing nature. The resulting tracks explore these themes through dark ambiance, noise, lo-fi electronics, and sound collage.
The compilation begins with the droning ‘14k scumbag’: a resonance of distorted synths and insect-crackle. Next, ‘Swed_Fl’ lures us into the darkness with its deep bass and cheerless ambiance. Belgium’s Roebin de Freitas delivers the circuit-bent noise of ‘Trailblazers Anthem,’ which is followed by the Merzbow-like assault of Rotted Brain’s ‘Misunderstood.’ The next two tracks, ‘Battle Ready’ and ‘Rumr’ feature lo-fi electronics and misfiring drum machine patterns.
Turmoil returns us to the darkness with ‘Auditory Hallucinations,’ a night-time walk through an unfamiliar landscape. ‘Waxing Elephant’ shifts and jostles like a carnival ride gone haywire, while ‘Armaments’ sounds like a cheap video game being eaten by a distortion pedal. Aptly named, ‘Transmissions from the Asylum’ creates a disturbing atmosphere where disembodied voices cry out in the silence. The haunting ambiance of Wavespan’s ‘The Bridge’ evokes a sense of being followed, as footsteps echo amidst a background of dark drones and chiming metal.
Mystified expands his netlabel discography with ‘Instability 2′: an unsettling arrangement of shifting electronic tones. The compilation finishes with the urban field recording of ‘Drugs and Our Youth,’ by label head Jon7.”

“The Digita’lis/Phlox project is Erich Ward and Shawn Shackelford and took place between 1999 and 2001, including a brief tour from the mid-west to the east coast with Chicago-based IDM artist The Flashbulb. Their release, ‘The Drummondii Days,’ is a collection of abstract broken-beat rhythms, 80’s analog synth manipulations, and heavy compression techniques for a unique lo-fi quality. This release includes the classic ‘A Shape of Strange Faith’ track, it’s remix by The Flashbulb (explicit), and our take on something called the P1 Project.”

“4 pieces of cinematic chiming drones recorded on a beautiful winter weekend at the wave room in Montreal, Canada. A side step from Martin Dumais’ AUN project, these compositions were inspired by the theme of clinacy. [Live direct to hard drive recordings, no edits. The cover is from a MAX MSP still by Julie Leblanc.]“

“Our tenth release is a short self titled EP from Track53 that boasts a simple yet elegant sound. Frank Dambra creates and transforms the somber waves that run through the veins of each song, but ironically leaves you warm and comfortable in an empty gap between conscious and unconscious thought.”
