AH #007 [renu - hello how are you]

Posted in Ambient, Downtempo, Electronica, Experimental, Hip Hop by bleepwatcher

“Renu has greeted us with his latest release ‘Hello How are You’ which delivers beautiful melodic electronica with an urban twist. Deep bass, hard beats, and chilled melodies are a reoccurring characteristic of his sound.”

AH #005 [hills west - glare]

Posted in Ambient, Downtempo by bleepwatcher

“Glare, the latest release from Hills West, penetrates a world flooded in light. Warm, lush synths are evocative of a summer afternoon and nostalgic, soft, tones are carefully modulated in and out of consciousness.”

GFR #010EP [dj.noizcut - community cut]

Posted in Downtempo, Hip Hop by bleepwatcher

“The Community Cut, first EP of dj.noizcut, has been in production for a long period of time. First tracks were written in the beginning of 2006, but soon the work stopped due to some Noizcuts’ personal problems. When it was reopened, whole bunch of new tracks has been done, but they were also replaced many times… Even covers were changing often (well, not SO often..). In the summer 2006, EP was finally mixed and ready to master, but… It’s probably some kind of curse that Noizcut keeps changing things at last minute, so some new tracks appeared, but this time they were brought to final stage. Only track that survived since the very beginning is the ‘Dopey Afternoon’. Mix took some time, but the master was done in quite a hurry, otherwise the Community Cut would be never released :) This EP is a soft one, there aren’t any hard beats, it is rather somewhere between the abstract hip-hop and downtempo. Seven tracks, lazy moods, noisy cuts and similar stuff, enjoy it!”

AH #003 [corwin trails - corwin trails]

Posted in Ambient, Downtempo by bleepwatcher

“Corwin Trails is an odd mixture of ambient down-tempo with storytelling. This self-titled EP release from Samuel Vandiver incorporates a narrative element in each track that is blanketed with rich, smooth melodic phrases. Burried underneath these surreal landscapes are cut up samples of anything from childrens stories to philosophy lectures.”

AH #002 [orange crush - the fields]

Posted in Ambient, Downtempo, Experimental by bleepwatcher

“Orange Crush’s late autumn release, ‘The Fields’, will frequent our ears through winter. His warm, whispering melodies and adaptive percussive beats are weathered and worn yet enduring. Tones will gently waver and pan, calming anxieties, and opening minds to a pleasantly peculiar dream.”

COD #061007B [cooler - live at cod estek]

Posted in Downtempo, Electro, Live by bleepwatcher

“Live at Cod Estek is a monthly issued 3 part series of releases that contain the recordings of the very first mini-festival dedicated to Complementary Distribution netlabel that took place at Szovetseg 39 Gallery, in Budapest on the 6th and 7th of October 2006. Our second artist is Cooler, a new electronic artist who becomes more and more well known each and every day in the international scene as well. After his very first live set at Cod Estek, he also had succesful live shows at NEWNEW! Festival 2006 in Brno - Czech Republic, and at the Chi Recprdings organised event called Faculty, A38 Ship in Budapest, Hungary along with Vector Lovers (Soma - UK). This day is the release date of his Puking Sparrow EP at Chi Recordings, and he appears on Bitlab Records’ new EP as well with a remixing his mate called Noise64 whose live set is going to be third and last episode of the series. Cooler’s live set represents what he is into in all his works: that is reaching a shocking but healthy complexity of sounds via maximum usage of technical possibilites. The set starts with powerful melodic downtempo tracks — many of them are still unreleased — and ends up with heavy, dark electro body movers. Enjoy this 59 minutes from October, loop the past, it’s live. See you in the end of January.”

“In League with Seitan is a lovely little e.p with a monstrous Phil Collins cover at the end. If you like your downtempo with cool bass and drum hits, and a dash of vocoder, then this is for you.”

Bump #011 [dj kirill - project cuba]

Posted in Downtempo, House by bleepwatcher

“Latin House tracks from Pete Kirill! It is a collaboration with Cuban music group ‘Sin Palabras’. The music has been described as very accessible electronica with minimal down tempo beats and hot Cuban percussion (and vocals). ‘An excellent fusion of house and world - the buena vista social club meets mark farina…danceable and infectious’. “

LCD #077 [noise relations - acid love EP]

Posted in Downtempo by twilight electric

noiserelationsep.jpg“Noise Relations comes to us from Poland with his first release on LM classically titled Acid Love. This album entails a laid-back loungy mood of aural passages to induce one’s visions off into an evening travel through an interstellar nebulous of electrofied mellowness. All tracks are on a chillout type of state except for ‘Break The Core’ which veers off into an adrenaline drum and bass tangent.

This nice set of downtempo space chillout is perfect for downloading, buring on a disc, and enjoying it while driving on a countryside or cityside with the moonroof open, and one’s mind set into a drifting noise relational soundstate.”
