WAW #003 [mithra - nightmare’s death]

Monday, August 27th, 2007

“Mithra is our first accompanist on our journey to the top of the netaudio-universe ;) and it seems he knows what WaW is all about!

His record is like a nice troll, jumping around you, wanting to make you dance, and sometimes he tries to look evil, pushing you around a bit, until you lay on the floor and can’t help but laugh. Because you know, this troll is good-natured, just having fun with you, so you get up and follow him, leaving the hills of stubborn coolness behind.”

CMR #023 [goodbye enemy airship - get healthy]

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

“Goodbye Enemy Airship returns with ‘Get Healthy,’ the follow-up to his CMR debut, ‘Melody Is My Middle Name.’  This latest release takes off right where the last one left off, as GEA continues to build upon his unique brand of drum n bass with a few added bonuses. He even includes the occasional stomper (see ‘No Good@?’) which really sets this collection off in new directions. This quality recording is certainly not to be missed! Tell all of your friends.”

RAR #010 [kopasetik - selftitled]

Monday, March 26th, 2007

“Random Access Recordings presents Kopasetik and his ‘Selftitled EP’. Kopasetik is an original member of RAR and has been very active behind the scenes doing graphic artwork for releases and offering a hand whenever wherever needed. Born and raised on the west coast of the United States, Kopa has been producing music since the mid-1990’s and has had many influences from different genres. His style ranges from laidback, almost meditative sounds of ambient, to the tempo range of the heart-pounding exercise regiment called drum’n'bass. This release showcases his skill and versatility, with bass heavy kicks surrounded by tribal like percussion, giving way to worldly like atmosphic sounds that is carefully detailed and nurtured with just the right type of melodies. This EP is a bit different from most Random Access releases due to the fact that it gets away from our bread and butter house or techno, which is primarily what we are known for. Don’t be fooled though, this is ear candy folks and will satisfy most dance floor addicts and electronic music fans. So download this one and put it in your MP3 players or your entertainment centers. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Close your eyes and set your mind free. Let Kopa take you to his world on a great musical journey!”

Waw #002 [massju - mer (phobia) remixes]

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

“Mer (Phobia) is about fear, the frightening feeling of being alone in a dark place, about anxieties we share and the hatred that imbues our minds. Phobia is an engine that creates power, a dark power deep inside our subconsicousnesses waiting to be released. Hatred is the consequence of fear and destruction the result of hatred. Mer (Phobia) is about destruction, Mer (Phobia) is about fear.

The Track Mer (Phobia) is part of Industree by Massju, first published by our friends of the US netlabel Electro-Space. The Mer (Phobia) Remixes feature interpretations of innovative electronic-music producers with different stylistic backgrounds: Toxonic, Jens Robot of Illphabetik Records, Taktalsmittels Org, Flextronic, Hirnsalbe, Weirdandwireds Wolfseule, Mouse Motion Listener, Massju and Electro-Space artist Tlahlok.

Thanks to Khärlez at Electro-Space, all the Remixers, and the netlabel-supporters.” –massju

PP #022MD [hek 187 - big dawg EP]

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

“Second coming for Berlin based badboy Hek187. Since his last release for Plainaudio, the man has been busy producing the full album of Hard:edged frontline MC Santana aka Semtex for Kehlkopf Records. Now we are very happy to serve you a 4 track EP of finest ghettobreaks right from the street.

‘Blue Haze’– bring it on! Eerie Strings accompanied by lazy rollin beats. Barking bass stabs, deadly deep subs with ravey attitude when it comes to the second drop, seen! B-side ‘Twizter’ is one heavy halftime-breakbeat-monster of a track with mean and scary laughter stabs– evil clown soundtrack representin’!

In comparison to both predecessors, ‘Rockwool (VIP)’ is letting you take a break. Meditatively rolling, the track formulates the deep and pensive counterpart to the b-boy rock attitude of the other tunes of this EP. Title track ‘Big Dawg’ is tightening up again. Subs with impact, moving stabs and some rave fx are pushing the vibe forward. If Digital would have released on No U-Turn– the sounds of ‘Big Dawg’ show you how it might have sounded. Peace!”

mdS-al #006 [tripper - selected works #1]

Friday, January 19th, 2007

“The only way to fight the madness around us and inside ourselves, is to bring positive vibes to our minds and consciousness. You can actually study cymatics to understand that water molecules form beautiful and complex geometrical crystal shapes when exposed to certain music and sound frequencies. And even our intentions, emotions, thoughts affect the crystals through a quantum-field. We are mostly water, so our thoughts, intentions will manifest instantly in our own bodies. Its not that far fetched idea if you think about it…

‘Selected Works 1′ is a Space Pop LP flavoured with styles from Clicks and Cuts, electro and drum and bass by our finnish member Ville Tripper Sarell. The track ‘Tannhäuser Gate’ was produced for the demo ‘Tannhäuser Gate’ by Cubicle: Have a click at cubicle.fi! moodsplateau.net — where passion beats — since 1999 “

VRW #003 [ambahjak - t-piece]

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

“drum n’ bass album based on fast old school breaks , euphoric happy melodic elements and sometimes harder trance sounding basses . catchy tracks and a couple of surprises are included. the album starts with an inviting feel-good piece, passes through darker spaces with ‘battery concise’ and gets to the first climax when the very clever drum and percussion programmed ‘leach clock’ kicks in. hard attacks, compression and heavy bass drums keep it intense the whole 5 minutes, while track four, ‘this is control’ is more of a downtempo loopy structure seen melodically, but with lots of sound color changes . the best comes at the end: an oldschool sounding prodigy influenced track, perfectly reminding us of those clubbing events we all visited some time ago.”
