“This release was a collaborative effort between 5 PxTone users who tend to stray away from pure chippie and BGM sounds when producing in the lo-tech environment. The artists goal was to take a single a sample and build a song around it, or simply just use it somewhere. The result is 7 tracks of wickedly contrasting styles which, when listen together, sound like 7 stories of the same event told by different people who were there. Represented styles included are speedcore idm, minimalistic breaks, r&b+breaks, himuro style, house, and just plain strange, but its a given that all tracks have a chip flavor somehow about them. Featured artists are Kim I/O, AGF, HS, Yamahara and t3h933k.
(It is required to have PxTone .7.9.1 (freeware) for Windows, which is available on the Piston Sources Cuts page since the mission at PS is to promote realtime music and learning, not mp3s.) Total playing time is over 20 minutes.”

Warm effected synths meander over the top of intricate, minimal rythyms to give this tripped out track a sparkling edge. Our first impression of this track was that it contained similar references to the current output on imprints such as get physical, where strong melody is often more prevalant than microsampled skits.”

With this release, Yan shows us that he can remix a song not once but twice without the more than we can stand overkill that we sees allot these days with remixes. Can you say ‘Hooray.’ LOL. Yan gives you all you can ask for with this EP. That is allot to be said considering it is three different mixes of one song. Each song brings its own flava as it should. DJ’s definitely should get a piece of this, with each track being very dance floor friendly.
