“Set to stand alone with a strong physical presence is Ophibre’s REFERENCE. This sonic sculpture communicates through complex interconnected paths that breathe as natural forces allow them to adapt. The track begins with a prickly textural abstraction, both organic and mechanical, and then continues to a melodic and psychedelic outgrowth of the original movement.
Unified by layers of recordings the first half of REFERENCE is shaped by the experiences of the past, not directly representational but guided by spiritual and intellectually developed sonic imagery. The floating quality of atonal noise creates a moving mirage of thoughts and memories that are shifted and refracted through the second movement. The melodic movement solidifies the references to the past as it allows for meditative tones to set a common focus that acts as a guide to self-awareness.”

An EP in key electro-minimalist full of rhythm and that sure will not defraud those lovers of the sessions of this lions settled now in Madrid. “Machinefabriek’s Stuip and Staar are two minimal drone performances captured at the Cross Street Chapel, Manchester (UK) and the Toneelschuurm, Haarlem (NL). Running just under an hour his processed guitar textures rise and fall, stretching their substance through etheral minimalism, slowly evolving epic heights, and moments of sublime symphony.
Rutger Zuyderveit’s work has gained much attention over the past few years through performance, his self-titled imprint, and releases at labels such as Type and Lampse. We’re pleased to have him join our ranks and carry forward the ambient series of One releases previously visited by past alumns such as Loscil, Makunouchi Bento, Kaneel, and Kwook.”

“João Ricardo produces music under the name OCP (Operador de Cabine Polivalente). After several releases at the MiMi netlabel, recently his album length work Sound Check has been published at the well-known TestTube netlabel, and now he is here at Complementary Distribution with a release in two parts entitled Interludes.
Many people praise and enjoy OCP’s unreleased open source audio works at archive.org: Interludes originally was one of those open source materials. In terms of genres OCP creates minimal and glitchy dubambient in a healthy, unconventional and creative way. This first part has an equal and powerful atmosphere. The listener can meet up wet grooves, long and flowing harmonic synthpads accompanied by so called glitchy sounds which are exciting but never disturbing. The release ends with one gentle remix done by Hungarian minimal 4p4 artist Ferenc Vaspoeri (ChiWare, Cod – HU, Standard Music – FR).”
