BFA #002 [a.l.o. - dual mode]

Posted in Jazz, Soundscape by bleepwatcher

“After the great album of Merde comes on Flos Acquae (a sub-series of Benekkea net/rec label): Athletic Lime Orchestra.

A.L.O. is an acrobatics electronic one man band in the balance between jazz, klezmer and ethnic suggestions. The combination is free and re-invented track after track. Contrapposition plans and interlace harmonic are built and re-built following the acoustic inspiration simply. The result is a sonorous atmosphere series designs but although that clearly to you, not definable. The only thread conductor is the thin irony of the author who plays with its ingredients without but never feeling sorry itself some.”

NT #6004 [anaesthesia - anaesthesia]

Posted in Soundscape by bleepwatcher

“One of the first No Type releases & also, hands down, our most popular release ever with over 20,000 downloads so far! This 5-track album goes from the seriously epic space age ambient improv of Part 1 & Part 2 to the baffling Hammerhead screamadelia of Futility.

[and a personal description by Kaia: Hardcore filmscore: Epic, romantic, rough, raw. Friends let loose in a dorm room at U of Delaware, ~1997, with homemade PVC 3ft tall stringed monstre (& screaming into it), electric violin, synth, Hammerhead, and more!]“

TLHOTRA #004 [olle svensk - pitroghucy]

Posted in Ambient, Soundscape by bleepwatcher

“As we step in to the music of Pitroghucy, we also step in to empty factories, deserted warehouses and isolated buildings. Inspired by these abandoned places Olle Svensk has created a piece of work that brings the listener on an urban exploration in sound. What may we find in the dark? Which creatures dwell amongst the debris? Who might we meet deep in these tunnels? Might it be ourselves? Is it our own subconsiousness, spawning from deep inside our minds?

‘Early in the mornings when I’m walking to work I use to listen to music in my mp3 player. One morning when I listened to Pitroghucy by Olle Svensk, something unusual happened. I walked the wrong way! The cause might be that I was tired, and that I’m used to walk the same road several times, but that’s not all there was to it. A reason might also be the music. I lost myself in the music in a mediative condition, my body walked by itself while my present was in Pitroghucy dark geography. This has never happened to me before, and I think this occurrence explain what kind of intense music Olle Svensk successfully has created.’ - Markus Ã…berg, TLHOTRA”

ZGL #001 [VA - glasshouse #01]

Posted in Compilation, Soundscape by bleepwatcher

“Thus, we finally have in hands the first hardcopy and tenth reference of the Modena label

It is, we easily imagine, an important moment, because the first off-line excursion for a netlabel with a great recognized requirement.

Then now, is the question: welcome in the real world zymogen The answer is making absolute no doubt. Between concept album or an obvious will of representation of the activities of the label, this release can easily make lie these points of view, so much it has a real coherence, Glasshouse #01 is of those rare compilations from which one refuses to distinguish such participant or such other - this unit is partly due to the excellent graphic work of sunisbetterthanmoney, to the beautiful and now usual images of Mario Aldovini, due to the suggestive immersion of the tracklist and well on, due with the high behaviour of the guest-list: Ibakusha, Dincise, Takeshi Nakamura, Lezrod.

Suggestive immersion? Yes, Filippo Aldovini has it seems, have privileged a progression tactic on, and that does not have been so easy, as so much these artists compete in the excellence and the multiplicity of their matter. Thus ibakusha surreptitiously takes us on board, in some soundscapes where sometimes we perceive an aural signal inviting us to the back return - too late!

D’incise offers to us ‘un bouquet de fleurs fanées c’est si joli’ Et tellement vrai (and so true) Nakamura continues with a ’subtraction’ which in fact, hides an authentic and beautiful sub-abstraction.

Finally, Lezrod closes the door of the glasshouse in a flow and a backward flow of tearing sound layers of particles in search of skeletal and late harmony, this ‘xx’ is XXL.

Off or On, zymogen is a very precious line to follow.”
